Email Agents

4min

Introduction

Agenthost now has email support for agents you create so this means you can email your agent to get responses. Soon you'll also be able to setup forwarding to enable forwarding emails from your own email address.

Send an email to your agent

To send emails to your agent and get responses, you simply need to send an email to {agent_handle}@agent.agenthost.ai where you replace {agent_handle} with the handle of your agent.

Set up email forwarding to your agent

Setting up email forwarding allows emails sent to your domain to be automatically forwarded to your agent and automatically responded to based on your knowledgebase. If the agent can't respond to the email, it will then send the email to the admin email you've configured.

Gmail Forwarding Verification

Setup your email forwarding on your email client of choice. Some email services, like Google require verification. Agenthost will automatically forward the verification email to your account email address. Then you simply need to click the confirmation link and follow the steps to enable email forwarding.

  1. Toggle Email forwarding then enter the email address you will be forwarding your mail from ([email protected])
  2. If you would like for your agent to NOT automatically respond, you can toggle co-pilot mode which will send the agent's response to your email address instead of to the original sender.
  3. If you would like the agent to respond but want to be cc'ed, toggle cc on response
  4. Click Save forwarding settings to save your new forwarding settings.

Limitations

Attachments are currently not supported for email agents. Only Gmail forwarding verification is currently supported. Please request more in our feature request board.
